One of my stories has been translated into Farsi by Asadollah Amraee, and many others by Jalil Jafari, two of which have been published in the Iranian journal, Golestaneh Magazine. Currently, I'm an Associate editor for Narrative Magazine. In 2011, I was awarded the Carol Houck Smith Contributor Scholarship for the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference.

Monet in Normandy
Tom and I took our youngest to the Monet exhibit at the North Carolina Museum of Art. This was one of the pieces among 50 of his works. (This one I think belongs to the museum as well as another favorite of mine) The power of a master painter: his work actually brought tears to my eyes.
